The Executive Director of the Montclair Film Festival, Tom Hall, is the guest. This is Tom’s 3rd appearance on the podcast. He & his team decided to move the festival from its typical May schedule to October where it will likely remain going forward. As many other festivals have proceeded this year during the pandemic, The Montclair Film Festival —now in its 9th season— will be programming a combination of virtual and drive-in screenings. The festival will take place from October 16th through the 25th. Tickets & details can be found on their website.

Documentary filmmaker John Scheinfeld (“Who is Harry Nilsson & Why is Everybody Talkin’ About Him?”, “The U.S. vs. John Lennon”) makes his first appearance on the podcast. John’s latest documentary is “Herb Alpert Is…” about the eponymous musician, artist and philanthropist who has sold more than 72 million albums -29 of them gold or platinum- outsold The Beatles in 1966 and co-founded A&M Records, the most successful independent record company in history. “Herb Alpert Is…” looks at Herb’s extraordinary life with rare footage and interviews with colleagues like Sting and Questlove. It’s now available on streaming platforms.
