Filmmaker Rebbie Ratner has made the documentary “Borderline” about a woman who has a Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis. The first time she tried to kill herself, she was five years old. Now she is 45 and hell-bent on trying to live – most of the time. She reacts on impulse, attacks, distracts, meditates, offers social commentary, trips over herself, laughs, judges, burns bridges, makes social gaffes, apologizes, loses her cool, philosophizes and remains dogged in her search for recovery. Rebbie Ratner joins me for an extended conversation about “Borderline”. We’re joined by returning guest, the filmmaker Michel Negroponte (“I’m Dangerous With Love”). Michel appeared on Episode 320 along with the subject of his most recent feature, “The Autobiography of Michelle Maren”, a film that also deals with mental illness. He was also on Episode 360 discussing documentary filmmaking.

“Borderline” is currently available for streaming on both iTunes and Amazon. The film is produced by Rebbie and Suzanne Mitchell, and executive produced by Barbara Kopple.
