This episode is a celebration of Hal Hartley’s Long Island Trilogy which will be available in a new box set as of Friday, November 23, 2018. “The Unbelievable Truth”, “Trust”, and “Simple Men” —the first three feature films of legendary American Independent director— are presented here for the first time as a set, restored in HD, a beautifully designed and crafted box set including a 20-page booklet with essays and rare photography.

Joining me in this edited mash-up to share their memories of those years is a number of actors from those films including Martin Donovan, Karen Sillas, Edie Falco, Bill Sage, Robert Burke and director Hal Hartley himself. The full conversations with all the participants will be posted in forthcoming episodes of the podcast. In the meantime, you can purchase a copy of the box set either at halhartley.com or on Amazon.

This episode is dedicated to the memory of Adrienne Shelly.
